The aim of the event is to celebrate QE2’s 50 years since her launch in Clydebank in 1967. This will be done through the knowledge and enthusiasm of a range of speakers who will tell the story of the ship from her launch in 1967 to decommission in 2008.

What Date is the conference?

What Time does it start?
09.45 to 16.30 Registration with tea/coffee from 8.45 onwards

Where is the conference venue?  
Clydebank Town Hall.  More details on our Venue page.

Can I pay for tickets on the day of the conference?  No!  In fact the conference is now sold out.

Will there be catering provided?
Tea or coffee will be provided at registration, mid morning and afternoon.  A sandwich lunch is also included in the price.  Please tell us any dietary requirement when booking tickets.

Who can attend?
Members of The QE2 Story forum, maritime enthusiasts and members of the public who have bought a ticket.

Where can I purchase the QE2 50 year badge? Celebrate QE2’s 50th anniversary by wearing this special limited edition badge that can be purchase at the QE2 Story shop

Weather and average temperature in Scotland?  Weather can can changeable in Scotland so it is best to check weather forecasts before travel on websites such as the BBC weather page.  Scotland Information Guide gives an indication of the Scottish climate and average temperatures.

Are there any other events planned for the Saturday after the conference?  Yes we have a special return boat trip from the Science Museum to the site of the former John Brown’s shipyard in Clydebank, with the option to go up the Titan Crane.  Full details and booking information can be found on the Saturday Events Page
